I am a fifth-generation Christadelphian, baptized in 1960 in Boston Massachusetts. My enthusiasm for the community has had many highs and some lows – right now it is fairly high, thanks to the opportunity to work with the team that manages the Garden Outreach project, an effort to encourage individuals and ecclesias in North America to serve the poor and hurting in their local communities. I have a BS degree in Chemistry and a PhD in Biophysics. I worked in agricultural chemical R&D for 31 years before retiring in 2007. During my university years, I learned to always insist on exploring for myself the data behind any conclusions and to challenge the presenter with questions. This has been both a blessing and a curse. Since retirement I have had the time to do this more vigorously than before, especially with respect to Biblical beliefs. My wife Nora and I have been blessed to have been able to adopt three daughters from Costa Rica. We now have three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
