Thank you John for a very interesting talk. There is certainly much discussion in New Scientist magazine on this subject and no sign of any agreement at all. It seems to me that the more fundamental question for physicalism is: why is there something rather than nothing? This was actually discussed some years ago, but of course no-one had even a vaguely satisfactory answer. Perhaps people have a very limited idea of what God actually is; something which demands humility on our part.
